Uganda’s Luuka District serves as the focal point of our operations at See Them Grow Foundation, nestled within the country’s eastern region. With a population predominantly engaged in subsistence agriculture, Luuka District faces significant challenges in education, health, and poverty alleviation.

In terms of education, Luuka district grapples with high dropout rates, particularly among girls, limiting their access to quality schooling. Additionally, limited resources and infrastructure hinder educational progress, impacting literacy rates and overall academic achievement.

Healthcare services are similarly strained, with limited access to medical facilities and personnel contributing to high maternal mortality rates. The lack of essential resources, including medical supplies and trained professionals, exacerbates health disparities, particularly in rural areas like Luuka.

The district’s poverty levels are pronounced, further compounded by limited economic opportunities and inadequate social support systems. These challenges underscore the critical need for intervention and support, driving our commitment to empowering marginalized communities in Luuka District through education, healthcare, and economic empowerment initiatives.
